Adelaide Hills
Our Hills are a beautiful part of Adelaide and so close to the city. The Mt Lofty Ranges is a food bowl, of apples, pears, cherries, strawberries and grapes to name a few. This region is particularly beautiful in Autumn. Geographically, it is the largest wine region closest to Adelaide and has just over 50 cellar doors. The region is of a higher elevation of up to 700 meters above sea level. The region receives a cooler climate and slower ripening conditions, which encourages the grape varietals Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Sparkling wine and cool climate Shiraz to name a few. There are some excellent restaurants, cheese and chocolate producers, cider and craft brewers and gin distillers in the region to spice things up. Adelaide Hills also showcases the Australian National Motor Museum, the historic German town of Hahndorf and the original headquarters of Penfolds at Magill Estate. We are more than happy to incorporate these into an Adelaide hills wine tour at your request.
