BAROSSA VALLEY &
eden valley
They call it “the jewel in our wine crown”. The globally renowned Barossa is situated one hour north of Adelaide. It is a scenic and rich valley which produces some of the world’s finest Shiraz, Cabernet, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Tempranillo, Semillon, Chardonnay and many other Mediterranean and French varietals. The Eden Valley, in the Barossa ranges, is at a higher elevation and with cooler, slower ripening conditions. This area produces the region’s most sought-after Rieslings. There are well over 100 cellar doors in the Barossa, ranging from the larger more well-known producers of Orlando, Wolf Blass, Penfolds, Yalumba and Peter Lehmann to the amazing small producers, who operate by appointment only. The Barossa is steeped in history, with some beautifully crafted award-winning wines and a unique collection of old fortifieds. It is the local legends and their amazing stories that paved the Barossan history and its brand. It harbours some of the oldest commercial vineyards in the world, some over 170 years old. The Barossa has spectacular wines and landscapes, amazing restaurants and locally produced cheese and smallgoods. There is the amazing town of Greenock, Maggie Beers farm shop, the Barossa Chocolate Company and a few craft brewers and gin distillers. You can really experience more than just wine. It is a great place to mix it up, relax and indulge.
